Thanks for your feedback. Now all you need to do is open any text document or PDF that you can select the text in, select it, then go to the application menu. For example, I used Preview to pull up a text document, I highlighted the text in it, and went to the Preview menu. Select Add to iTunes as a Spoken Track. Choose your language and dialect. Some languages, such as English, have multiple dialects. Tap the fn (or your selected shortcut key) twice and began speaking to your Mac. Cool, now you also have a voice assistant constantly listening for you to search the internet or open applications. There’s tons more you can do: actually tie them together in the same assistant (didn’t feel like it) incorporate news/weather APIs, maybe automate email stuff, put your own custom phrases in elasticsearch, build a more complex model for the activation, etc…but this is a decent place to start just for kicks.
